My name's Melody and, as you can imagine, I have a very lyrical voice! My friends with Hanover Humane say that there's a lot of me to love--I currently weigh about 22 lbs. Now that I'm with Hanover Humane, the volunteers are trying to help me lose the weight and regain my girlish figure. My friends have me on a strict dry weight control formula so I am losing my weight ever so slightly. Because of my current size, I have had a hard time grooming my back on my own, so I need the help of volunteers. Normally, my hair is medium/long in length and it's very filmy and tends to knot easily; I would do best with someone who could brush or comb my hair for me so that it would always look nice. I'm looking for a calm home where I can be an only cat. I'm not fond of other cats or kittens, dogs, or young children. My vet thinks that I'm about five years old, but I could be younger than that because I have a lot of energy and love to play. I've been spayed, am current on all my vaccines, and have been tested for feline leukemia and aids (and I'm negative on both). I've been microchipped and, at the time of my adoption, my new owner will get a month of free pet insurance for me. I currently reside in the Adoption Center at the Virginia Center Commons Petsmart.
